Après un premier volet (Escape from Butcher Bay) ayant connu un vif succès en 2004, une suite était donc logiquement attendue. C’ est donc aujourd’hui qu’ Atari a choisi d’ annoncé la suite de son fps inspiré des films du même nom.
Prévu pour le printemps 2009, le titre qui devait être un remake du jeu original avec du contenus additionnels, sera finalement un titre nouveau proposant une aventure inédite accompagnée de l’ aventure originale mais conçue pour une nouvelle cible. The Chronicles of Riddick : Assault on Athena proposera aussi une partie multijoueurs.
Dans Assault on Athena, vous incarnerez Riddick (Vin Diesel), vous vous servirez de la discrétion et de la force pour venir à bout des vagues de mercenaires venues du vaisseau « Dark Athena ».
Nous voici donc avec un nouvel épisode dans la saga Riddick et cette fois, ce n’ est pas au cinéma.
Avec aux commandes le studio Starbreeze, déjà responsable du développement du premier volet, on ne peut s’ attendre qu’ à du bon. Sauf si « Vin » fait un excès de zèle.

Previously announced as a remake of hit title The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay with added content, Atari can today reveal that The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena contains a brand new full-length campaign. This exciting announcement promises a title which will include the original game re-imagined for a whole new audience, an entirely new chapter in the Riddick saga and, for the first time, intense online multiplayer combat, making The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena a must-have experience for any fan of intense action gaming.
